Cap:
We will cap adult and college registrations to 25 participants until after all high school students have had a chance to register.
Project:
This is a partnership with the SBC to provide new homes to impoverished people in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. Although it is a construction trip, there will be other means of service on the sites as well.
Travel Info:
Since Puerto Rico is a US Territory, a passport is NOT necessary. You may fly with any US issued photo ID (drivers license or a DMV issued photo id for anyone who does not have a drivers license). It does, however, make travel a bit smoother and easier to have a passport, plus you'll be ready for international travel if needed at a later date. Passports may be obtained by visiting the downtown Spartanburg Passport Office. You must now have a scheduled appointment in order to go. You must also have passport pictures made. Walgreens does them in about 15 minutes, relatively inexpensively.
Biggest Needs:
Crew Chiefs- We build modest, one story homes, all 2x4's, no electrical, no plumbing, on slab. I need at least 7 crew chiefs to take with us to supervise the projects.
Scholarship Donors- We will undoubtedly have a few students who will not be able to go for financial reasons. I'd like to minimize that as much as possible. Whether you're able to give $20 or a half scholarship for a student, every little bit helps and helps build the faith of the recipient as they see the Lord provide.
How to Register:
1-Fill out an interest card
Interest cards are available in the Underground, the Warehouse, the church library, and on the Acts 1:8 missions wall outside the sanctuary. Fill one of those out and bring it by the church office or give to Bucky whenever you see him.
You may also fill out an interest card online at our student ministry missions website, www.stsmissions.com
2-Pay your $100 deposit to hold your spot, at the very latest by January 1. All registrations without a deposit by January 1 will be cancelled.
